As I drive everyday I try and memorise details about cars I see, things like make, model, colour, registration, just in case the cops need help to solve a crime and I can help them crack the case with my superhuman observation skills. I do the same with conspicuous people.
Is it just me?
I work for a toll company and often review images so I look at car plates all the time and they all seem familiar.
ReplyDeleteI can see someone walking down the street and then see the a year later in a store and recognize their face.
I do try to remember conspicuous people. Years ago when I worked in a retail store we had a flasher unzip his pants and fondle himself in the checkout line.
Out of four of us we all gave a different description of the guy to the police.
I do with people. Can't help it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my dog too. Appreciated.
I'm with Moko. I really notice people, but not so much the cars.
ReplyDeleteWe should team up, Lou, and we'd be the newest crimefighting team!
I recognize a face but not where I know it from. The worst is talking to a face that you know and can't but a name with it. Friendly faces are the most sad, they seem to like me and I want to like them but I can't remember who they are.
ReplyDeleteOn a somewhat related note, I used to panic if, during the day, I couldn't remember what intellikid was wearing, just in case...
ReplyDeleteNow that she's 900 miles away and almost 20 years old I guess I need to find something else to worry about.
Oh, sure. I do that all the time. Like, I remember that Lou's site has a purple background...with grapes and hummingbirds all over it.
ReplyDeleteYou have long, blonde hair and look to be about 25. You have a daughter and hate flowers of any kind.
I have the *worst* memory ever (always have) and would make the world's worst witness. (Keep this in mind if you ever need me.)
Tee shirts are my thing. Can't put a face with them, but I remember the shirt.
ReplyDeleteLou, I tend to notice people and my hearing is very good, so I often hear what people are saying even if they think they can't be heard. It is a little disconcerting sometimes.
